Traditional design combined with the technology of today: Our Electric Launches combine traditional design with the latest in electric motor technology. The pleasing results offer a classic traditional looking craft that quietly travels across the water with minimal wake and gentle hum without leaving a trace of pollution.
The electric motor doesn't need a cooling system, a bilge blower to blow away explosive fumes, nor any warm up or expensive fill ups. With proper care and routine maintenance, the electric motor should last 15-20 years.
Technical Specifications: You simply flick the switch and you're cruising quickly, gently, ever so quietly over the water at 5 knots for 40 to 50 miles without a battery charge. The Electric Launches are powered by 1.5 horse power, 36 volt variable speed electric motor with three, 12 volt batteries.
For every hour of running, they take two hours of charging. After a typical day of running, the batteries can be charged overnight and ready for the next day's cruising.
Standard Features: Include a stainless steel mechanical steering system with mahogany wheel, 1.5 hp (1800 rpm) electric marine motor 36 volt DC variable speed, stainless steel shaft tube, shaft seal, propeller, rudder, Morse cables and controls, reverse relay and switch, throttle box, battery switch, three 120 amp 12 volt batteries (these may vary according to specifications), volt meter, battery charger and circuit breaker, all electrical switches including safety and security key switch, electrical bilge pump and navigational lighting.
Construction and Finishing: The basic hulls of the Electric Launches are built of western red cedar planking and covered with hand-laid fiberglass and low maintenance, durable clear West System Epoxy™ and are finished by meticulously hand-brushed ultra-violet protective marine spar varnish. Each piece of hardware and fitting has been carefully chosen to complement the design and function of these exquisite craft.
Custom Design Features: Our builders will consult with you to design the interior space to your specific requirements. Each hull is unique and built to your specifications. Available are various lengths and interior options for seating. Gasoline engines are also available for the eighteen footer.
